Hey Rabbi...what's your take on this?

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is a total failure and a huge mess. Rabbi Shifren is a 20 year veteran teacher at the LAUSD and has seen the failures first hand. He even wrote a book, Kill Your Teacher, which documents the failures of the LAUSD.

The fact of the matter is that all the State's taxpayers pay for this huge mess.

Let's hear you suggestions for fixing the LAUSD. Rabbi Shifren will critique your comments and suggestions. Click on the "New Topic" icon to post your comments and questions.

This is for real. The "spirit" effort at Daniel Webster Middle School , part of Los Angeles Unified School District .

This is a government school with a student to teacher ratio of 22 to 1, yet has an English proficiency of 23.9% and a Math proficiency of 15.6%--so class size does not matter.

Yet, the principal of this school, Kendra Wallace, says this in her message to parents: "I am particularly excited as Websters principal to be part of laying the foundation of energy, commitment, and focus. We have expanded our academic enrichment programs and will offer after school math and English support. We present a variety of after school activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays ranging from tutoring to sports, crochet to chess club. Additionally, Prime Time is an after school resource 5 days a week offering a successful balance between athletics and academics. This program begins at 3pm and ends at 6pm. In October, we will begin our Saturday School program to support our 6th grade population. "

Yet, what how does she allow her students to be treated? Babies? Literally, babies. Here are more "Spirit Week" events: Diaper Crawl, Baby Pop, Baby Food Feed and Baby Dress Up. This was a flyer given to every student--yet the PTA never said a word, the Principal approved this and the students in a school with low class size and terrible test scores are told by the Administrators that they are babies.

Billions are spent on LAUSD and the best they can do is a baby crawl and diapers---sick, sick sick. Won't any responsible school board member or school Superintendent anywhere in the state speak out? If not, they are as much as part of the problem as UTLA, Cortines, or the union owned and operated LAUSD school board.

Nobody will say a word. They, all of them, the union, the District, the teachers, will not move, say, or do anything to "rock" the sinking, stinking, slimy boat that they sail together. LIKE WHEN MY CLASSROOM WAS BURNED TO THE GROUND, WHEN I WAS ASSAULTED, HAD DEATH THREATS----THAT FACULTY KNEW I WAS BEING RAN ROUGHSHOD, AND.......Did....nothing, not a word.

So this is my pledge to the voters: Since UTLA intervied me for an endorsement, and chose the other corrupted, pro-illegal alien gang-banger-civil-rights candidate, "multiculturailist" (while Black kids are being gunned down or going to jail), over me, then I promise that when I'm in Sacramento, I will DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO WORK AGAINST THEIR HEGEMONY AND CHOKE HOLD OVER REAL LEARNING AND EXCELLENCE. I PROMISE THAT WHEN I AM ELECTED, THEY WILL SEE ONLY ONE COLOR; ......RED!
